Adopted by the Board of Directors, Girls Inc. of Central New York, 2/8/03
Vision: Girls Incorporated of Central New York - The premier organization empowering girls to overcome societal barriers and become successful adults while promoting an equitable world. Mission: Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and bold. Statement of Philosophy: Girls Incorporated of Central New York believes that every child, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, creed or national origin, should be able to achieve their full potential as individuals and as members of society at all levels. This involves empowering individuals to recognize and overcome societal barriers, to develop their individual talents and intellect and to accept their responsibilities and rights as members of the community. We recognize that nurturing and supporting families and encouraging our valued employees to maximize their leadership potential in serving young people are important components of this effort. In particular, our work with young people in general, and girls in particular, will emphasize program goals and activities that embody the following: . . . so as to become the recognized leader in promoting equality for all young people, especially girls. Therefore, Girls Incorporated of Central New York commits its collective resources to implementing balanced, creative programs designed to prepare girls, boys and their families to maximize their ability to lead economically independent, personally fulfilled and caring, responsible lives. | ||
